Did you know?
Nearly 80 percent of teenagers using prescription drugs got them from friends and family, including from their own home medicine cabinet.
Thanks to all Seward County residents who participated in the April 28 National Prescription Drug Take-back Day. The Seward Police Department and Seward County Bridges collected 97 pounds of unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs during the event. In a six-state region including Nebraska, Iowa, southern Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota, 46,686 pounds were collected, a 64 percent increase over the October 2011 collection. The United States Drug Enforcement Administration sponsors the event with funding provided by Region V Prevention Systems and the Nebraska Crime Commission.
